Completing the first month of olive harvesting, the first indications of the production of 2016-2017 season are the following:
Due to extremely high temperatures in May, the prolonged drought but also due to the infestation of trees by the Olive Fly (Dacus oleae), the available quantities are less than expected and will not most likely meet the demand for high quality extra virgin olive oil.
Under these conditions the announced producer’s price for olive oil of 0.3% acidity have increased and are expected to have an impact on the final price of the product to the consumer.
Regardless of the above, honoring your trust and dedicated to providing high quality products to our customers we hopefully will meet the increased demand for our products.
